I was friends with a man through friends of friends for years.
We were always attracted to each other but life got in the way I guess.
We spoke all of the time and both admitted how we felt.
He was leaving to work in Australia for a while so it seemed pointless.
Anyway we spent a night together,it just felt so comfortable.
We watched films all night, got a takeaway and just relaxed..it felt like we had been a couple for years, kissed etc.
Cuddled,he kept kissing my forehead and then he cried because he was going away.
He asked was I in love with him,and I think I was.

Now I'm dating a guy and we've slept together lots of times and hung out lots but I don't feel as close to him as I did the other guy.
How is that possible?
We spent 1 night together compared to about 50.
I just felt right (cheesy I know) with him.
Can anyone explain how and why?

Because you are seeing the the other guy through idealistic eyes. If you had spent more than one night with him and had a real relationship he would more than likely have lost his shininess.

That does make a lot of sense...
