Restraining order

I finally went to the police after years of physical and emotional abuse. He has pleaded guilty to 2 charges of common assault. He's been bailed to a friends house &'is due in court in 2 weeks time. The police are going to ask for a restraining order so he can't contact me. We jointly own the tenancy so will this be enough to keep him away from the house. Or will I need to obtain a non occupancy order. Money is an issue as I've seen a solicitor who said it will be £1500. I've posted on legal too. Thank you.

I'd call women's aid or contact a local domestic abuse charity to you. They can offer you free legal advice as I think any advice you get on here you can't rely on as people would need the full information about your situation to give correct advice.
There's options about getting someone removed from your tenancy but again without knowing the full situation I think it's risky to take any advice offered on here.
