Camping with an old school friend and HER 3 friends who are not your cuppa tea. Im trying to keep this brief so without sounding judgemental these 'friends' are very into their partying, festivals, substance use etc. The boyfriend and his friends of one is joining us who are again not my cuppa tea. I have absolutely no problem with how they choose to spend their time or live their lives but its just not how I would and thats cool as they probably think Im boring anyway haha! We are all different and thats cool too! I just know Im not really going to fit in as theyre all very 'out there' people and Im quite reserved (maybe boring).
My friend from school asked me a year ago (I have seen her twice since, in passing) and I agreed, paid up and didnt think too much about it. I think Im more of a number than a friend choice as I am driving. Alot has happened in that year and me and that friend are not even close. I just thought it will be ok, there will probably be lots going who I know and will get along with it. It has not worked out this way. Theyre all planning their outfits (very little clothing) I am certainly too fat to wear so little so already going to stick out like a sore thumb.
The camping trip is in 3 weeks. I am a little disappointed as its a mini festival with bands etc and its something I would enjoy. Its too late to invite anyone as the numbers have been paid for.

What do you think I should do?

I think you should go.

More than 90% of what humans worry about, never happens.

Have a great time, enjoy the bands & don't worry about your weight in the slightest. You see all sorts of shapes & sizes at a festival & no one cares.

Do it Grin

Yes! you absolutely definitely should go! This is exactly the kind of thing I would try and talk myself out of because I felt self conscious and over-thought myself out of it. If it's a mini-festival there will be loads of people socialising you can chat to, and if it's awful you can leave! Give it a go, get out of your comfort zone and you may have a great time - wear something you are comfortable and happy in, never mind what they are wearing. Good luck!
