Just Venting:
I know I'm being daft but sometimes things just get to me and make me question myself. Dd (adult) went to see stbxh recently. As usual he was full of how hard done by he is, we take little notice of this, he has a personality disorder (diagnosed) so we know that a lot of it's nonsense.
One of the things he does is he takes things that are a part of somebody else's lived experience and makes them his. e.g. I had an accident when young and don't clearly remember things that happened before it. He has somehow appropriated this and made it something that happened to him! This is normal behaviour for him. The most recent offering is that he has been kept prisoner for years. That because I did everything for him he now has to learn to do it, and I shouldn't have stopped him. This is a man who claimed his agoraphobia wouldn't let him see his children's recitals, or go to parents evenings. Who has never done a school run. Who never took me for a meal, the pub, the pictures, a gig. Because he was fucking agoraphobic! Dd pointed out this morning that it's me that's been the prisoner, he would harass me whilst out, sulk when I came home, even for weddings and funerals, I kid you not. He would not turn out to support at funerals. He would complain if I took too long to do the shopping. So I stopped going out socially and would only do essentials, uni visits, parents evenings, school concerts, that was it. He was waited on hand and foot for years and had everything handed to him on a plate. For some reason this latest claim has really, really got to me. Bloody silly, I know.
