Feeling insecure

How crazy is it, that when I meet met with little ambition, very basic jobs, no desire to further themselves, I am put off.

Yet when I meet people with desire, ambition, earn good money, I don't feel good enough?

Not crazy. You can probably trace the reason back to a time, place and experience(s)

Are you competitive?

No I wouldn't say I'm competitive. But I have worked very hard to have what I have and it still doesn't seem to amount to much! I'm a single parent of six children, and all my friends have husband's, large houses, multiple houses. I just feel that I don't really bring much to a relationship financially even though I have a fair bit of equity in my house. Which I am about to have in my sole name.

I think that it is this feeling of being inferior. When I'm working so hard and others have so much, and mostly from parents being wealthy.

Or probably just envy!

There is middle ground - if you find someone who is content in their role it becomes a non issue. My dp is a roofer/site manager sort of thing and is very content with role and income - so the career thing has become void. That said I dated a lecturer in dentistry - total arsehole to boot but made me feel a bit lacking. I also dated a bloke who had come out of the forces, been given a hide lump sum, squandered it and couldn't get his act together with his next career despite being very able and intelligent. I hear he's doing teacher training f now which I was thrilled about for him but all that did my head in at the time.
