I have not posted much recently on here re my separation, but thought I would pop on tonight & give a little update for all who have followed my threads & kept me going through my many blips over the last couple of years!

Hopefully things are now moving on quite a bit & I will soon be in my own place with the boys.
I am in the process of buying a house atm & hopefully the survey is being done on Tuesday, so it (hopefully) shouldn't be much longer now,
H has just had an offer accepted on a flat, which he seems to be quite happy about. I am just praying nothing falls through now!
It has been a rather stressful 9 months, which I wouldn't have managed to get through without the support I received from you lot, so thank you.

just realised who you are when you mentioned parents - so pleased things are working out for you. you and the kids be so much happier away from him. good luck

Themessyone · 18/03/2007 23:17

I know I have to do this, as I have tried everything else & it hasn't worked, and this is what has kept me going through all the pressure from my family...well that & the support from you lot on here!

I am doing kind of ok atm considering, but may be needing to pop back on here at times, for the final few weeks.

Survey has been done on the house I'm buying now, and my I had received confirmation that my mortgage offer has been accepted.
Starting to feel quite scared now!

Oh dear, not sure what went wrong with my last post! Think I was going to say "I had confirmation of my mortgage offer"
Then after getting interupted by DS2, started typing something else!!
Hope you get the gist of what I was trying to say!!

Really pleased for you, look forward to hearing more positive news soon. It's wonderful to see how far you've come after all the crap H has put you through.

Themessyone · 24/03/2007 09:47

I got my mortgage offer through in the post on Thursday, and confirmation that the searches are complete. Need to chase up exchange of contracts now.

Really starting to worry about the boys in all this.

It IS going to be good for them in the long term, messy. You have done so well to see past the current misery of your situation and work towards a solution - it's bound to take a while to bed down. Everyone on here agrees that you are doing the right thing for you and how often do we get 100% consensus on Mn these days
Great news that the house purchase is progressing. Even in a perfect situation this is a stress-fest, remember

Marina · 27/03/2007 10:15

for you and your boys, no-one could have thought more about your children's wellbeing that you have

Themessyone · 27/03/2007 18:45

My family still don't think I'm doing the right thing, but I feel I am. I didn't reach this decision easily, as you all know! I didn't want it all to end this way, but I tried everything else, and nothing changed.

DS1 is aware of what is going on, and said to me the other day "Why are you leaving daddy, mummy?"
I try to reassure him as much as I can, but it is really hard.
DS2 isn't really aware yet, and being that much younger, he has less understanding.
He is a real daddy's boy though, so I am worried about how he will adjust.

ScummyMummy · 27/03/2007 18:49

I am sure they will adjust, messy. And they will still see their dad regularly, just not see the horrible tension between you and his very poor treatment of you. That's got to be a superbly brilliant thing, imo. And you made it happen by being very wise and patient in immensely difficult circumstances. It's so excellent to hear that you're moving on.

Themessyone · 27/03/2007 20:52

I guess they will adjust to it all eventually, but it is quite heartbreaking atm.
I do feel I am doing the right thing though, however horribly hard it feels atm.
