Dh and my weight......

I have recently become disabled due to a hip / back condition. Over the last couple of years due to less mobility and being on several different medications I've put on over 2 stone. I'm now on Slimming World but it's slow going.
We're off on holiday next week and today dh has taken me out and given me money from his personal spends to buy holiday clothes . He helped me choose, carried the baskets and when I was getting a bit upset at my size ( 16, was always a 10-12) he said that it didn't matter one jot, as long as I felt good in my clothes and that he was just happy that I was pushing myself to stay mobile and being so positive. We've been married for 24 years , we're not soppy or anything like that but every once in a while he amazes me.Smile
What have your dh's done for you that you didn't expect?

I was leaving a job a little while ago that I'd been at for 2.5 years and was a bit upset I hadn't had a card or anything from them. usually we all made an effort when someone left, but in fairness the management was messy/things were a bit all over the place at the time, it just slipped under the net I suspect, considering I'm still good friends with my ex colleagues! Anyway I cried after my last shift because of it (it'd been a long day okay Blush) texted DP about how sad I was and he turned up with a card and present for me the next day. It doesn't sound like much but I just really appreciated the effort, it was sweet. And this sounds awful but he's not normally very thoughtful like that Grin

P.s have a good holiday!

I really thought this was going to be one of those threads about blokes making women feel horrible about their weight.

Yay for you and your DH bucking the trend! Have an amazing holiday.

Autumn0909 · 07/05/2017 18:08

Oh how lovely! I thought it was going to be another thread about a horrible DH, too!
Have a fantastic holiday!

This is a lovely change from threads usually seen on here. Have a lovely holiday OP and her DH Smile

Not2bObvious · 07/05/2017 18:56

Oh that's lovely, hope you have a great holiday with himself - sounds like a decent guy, sometimes a rarity!

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 07/05/2017 18:58

That's lovely!

After having an awful labour with DC1, dh cleaned the entire house before coming in to see us at 9am the next day. Sounds like a small thing but I'm slightly totally obsessed wth things being clean and tidy, and I thought it was so kind of him to drag himself up really early after having very little sleep for a couple of days, to do some scrubbing, because he would have known I was getting antsy about it.

I like this thread! Nice to see some positivity about partners.

I was working late last week so my partner cooked (dinner and a dessert) , washed up , did the washing and made me lots of cups of tea. He's always this thoughtful but especially so when I've had a long day.

Have a great holiday OP :-)

I've been next to useless for the last few months due to sickness and my husband has been fab. He's done all the cooking and cleaning and sorting the kids out as well as completely renovating our house. He drives me crazy sometimes but I honestly don't know what I'd do without him.
