Just had a light bulb moment.

As my name suggests I've been dithering about whether I have a future with DH. Unable to make a decision as there are children involved and money would be very difficult. Having just spent a weekend with family with DH being in a sulk, I think I have finally had a light bulb moment over a set of keys!
He didn't put my keys back where they live, I asked if I could have them, he replies ' yes, they're here on my lap'. My thoughts are this just sums you up. You can't be arsed to put yourself out for your family, even if you're the one in the wrong. if he does he sulks and makes it out to be a big favour. I've had enough. There, got that off my chest. Thank you for listening! The straw that has broken the camels back.

It doesn't get any better, having been there and done that. It sounds like this is only the tip of the iceberg and there are lots of issue below the surface. Selfish doesn't grow into a caring DH, it just stays selfish.

^^

Just to add that selfish never realises the favour of tough love!

I had a lightbulb moment when I realised..... nothing can be worse than this !!
House went on the market next day and sold within a week.

Yes. Definitely the tip of the iceberg. It's just taken this tiny misdemeanour for me to finally have had enough.

It reminds me of doing the same experiment in the same way over and over again and always getting the same results ...
Then a wee little shift in perspective can reveal all and be the common thread that connects all the previous crap in a way that finally makes sense.
The petty circumstances are not irrelevant for being the straw that broke the camels back.
Sorry you got a dud. Flowers
Good luck for your future happiness.
