Is your dp/dh your best friend?

I have a few girl friends who i am close to but i consider dp to be my very best friend as well as my boyfriend

Is that normal or does not everyone think the same of their dp/dh?

I am with motherinferior and expat. I love my dh he means the world to me but he is my partner.

My friends are different - they share other sides of my charater with me. They let me be the otehr sides of my personality that are not bound up with family and home. They also can talk to me about things that other people even dp might not 'get' about me.

I adore my close friends and would be lost without them.

started thread last night. some wonderful warm posts. other that, I've got nothing

My dh is definately my best freind. I trust him with my life. We put the world to rights with our long chats and we even chat about how good looking other men / women are like you would with the girls! And we always make each other laugh.
My friends dont have this kind of relationship with their dp / dh. Its very rare!

grouchyoscar · 11/03/2007 13:27

Yep, as much as he rattles my cage, gets on my nerves, annoys me etc etc I can cofide in him, have a good laugh, enjoy the same things, introduce each other to new experiences and share ALL my secretist secrets with him.

16 years of living together does make familiarity breed contempt. Ultimatley He's there when I need him and he is my best friend.

dionnelorraine · 11/03/2007 13:28

However, I do love getting together with the girls too! Just as dh does with the lads!

grouchyoscar · 11/03/2007 13:36

Always been one of the lads really, that's why we get on so well.

My friend from school is who I refer to as my BF and as special as that relationship is. DH is something deeper. I feel if we were to stop being H&W we would still be BFs
