(Happy topic!) Are you still excited to see your partner each day?

I'm loved up and in a wonderful new relationship after a toxic (12 year) marriage.

We've been together just over a year. I still can't get over how happy I am to see him every time we meet... and vice versa. We don't live together and I know this is the honeymoon period, but I did wonder if this EVER lasts?!!

To those in long-term happy relationships, do you still have this wonderful buzz?

I'm pretty much a realist, we have our share of life issues, divorce, exes, and over 5 kids together so its not always a bed of roses, but this guy just makes my heart sing.

I'd like to hear happy stories from happy couples!

oh yes. A smile from DH makes my heart melt. 11 years together.

Two years together and living together a year. I think we are both equally excited to see each other and talk and hug each night.

Absolutely. Together for almost 12 years. I still get giddy when I see him.

Yep, we've been together ten but living together 4 and since my girls have left home it's better than ever. Can't wait to see him (and my dogs)

Yep, 4 years down the line I still get a little buzz when he comes home even when he has been a twunt

My DSis has been married for nearly 18 years and says she gets that same feeling too.

Been together 8 years lived together for 5.5. Still super pleased to see Dh when he walks through the front door

19 years here and still love the bones of my DW, I love all the things we do together.

I know this is a happy thread but I feel a need to post the following

Yes, always happy to see him. OK, it's not the giddy buzz of the early days, but we are always pleased to see each other.

We've been together 29 years

Erm...20 years here. If excited means "yes, YES! he's home, here are your children, catch!" so I can chill out on here for a while then Yes. Very Excited. Positively thrilled.

18 years together, and he still makes laugh everyday and always a kiss hello, goodbye and goodnight.

I wouldn't describe it as excited exactly, but yes I get a smile on my face when he walks through the door . Together nearly 20 years.

Known him 6 years, been together (officially properly) nearly 6 months and just the thought of him makes me smile. I know it's not 'long' but I am so glad I didn't let him get away in the end.

Yes. Been together 23 years, married for 11. Despite a few ups and downs he's still the love of my life. He seems to approve of me too.

Eight years together and yep, love him coming home every day.

We've only been together for 9 years so far but yes, we both look forward to seeing each other after work every day. Can't help but grin when I see his lovely face. I still get a little fizz of happiness in my stomach when he holds my hand or kisses my forehead.

Now I'm smiling just thinking about all those lovely little things and I'm looking forward to seeing him when he gets home from work in the morning and even though he will be tired and grumpy he'll do the same thing he always does - tell me he missed me and kiss my forehead before he conks out. :)

Been together 35 years, still look forward to and enjoy meeting up at the end of the day, sharing what has happened during the day. Still think to myself when things happen, must let X know he'd be interested in that.
Makes me smile, so much common shared experiences and interests. He's my best friend.
He has faults and foibles that annoy me but on a good day I feel affectionate about them. It's not always been a perfect relationship and we had a couple of years that were very difficult, but my life would be very grey without him.

Sort of, I wouldn't describe it as excited, but definitely a feeling of relief/comfort/satisfaction when he comes through the door and locks it behind him and we are all safe inside the house together

Sorry, forgot to say, together 15 years, married for nearly 10

7 years together, lived together nearly 6 and we have a seven month old DS. I love hearing him come home, I love it when he comes up and gives me a kiss and I now love it even more when DS smiles and kicks his legs when he sees his daddy. He ALWAYS asks if I've had a good day as well as wishing me one when he leaves the house. He regularly calls when he's walking out at lunch to buy a sandwich. If I go to bed before him and I'm dozing off, I'll always feel a kiss on my cheek when he gets into bed.

And he's the same when I'm at work not just since I've been off after having DS. I love the bones of my man and I love the flutter I still get when I see him. He can drive me up the wall but I get the same excitement as I did in the early days.

Same as -Whispers it's not excitement it's more just comfort and relief when he gets in, I get antsy if he's not around and that sigh of contentment when he strolls out of work is always there, I do feel like I'm missing something when he's not around, I'm aware that's cheesy but it's true.

5 years in and yes, I get ridiculously excited when I see my gorgeous husband!
