How to find a good family law solicitor in London? Can anyone recommend?

Would really appreciate any help in finding a good solicitor, I've looked up listings but I don't know how you're meant to tell if they're any good.

It's a complicated situation involving a child (my niece) with the mother who is living abroad refusing contact.

Any recommendations? North/East London preferred. Thanks so much.

Hi OP, sorry your family is hoping through this. I've been through similar but in the UK & used a fab lady in North London. Her name is Denise Hoilette at PSP Law. Look in the Legal 500. It's a directory of top solicitors in all areas of law. If cost is not an issue, you could try Katherine Peat if she is still practising. I'm not sure which firm she is with, but when at my old firm she was very highly regarded. The Legal 500 used to describe her as an iron fist in a velvet glove.

Try the Solicitors Information Service. They recommend competent solicitors on 020 7483 4833 www.whichsolicitor.co.uk

Check out the law society website and look for local children lawyers with the children panel accreditation. This is my area of practice but I'm not London sadly
