Don't want to be on my own tonight

That's silly really isn't it.

Lone parent on my child free weekend and I'm already holding back the tears about being on my own tonight!

yep, I know the feeling. If the 83 is the year you were born though I have NO sympathy whatsoever ! :-) Go on OP at least you get the free week end, lots of us don't unless we pay or swap childcare with friends which means for every free eve there will be a day with extra kids around

Why can't you go out with friends? Or to the gym or pool or have a bath and binge watch some series or a movie. I'd love to have a night all to myself, I'd probably be in bed watching telly with a glass of red, a hair and face mask on and doing f@ck all

Do something with it, love. You can do things on your own or with a mate. What do you enjoy?

Sometimes I paint a room.
Sometimes I have my favourite food and Netflix in front of the fire.
Sometimes I go and see friends or family. Sometimes I go to the cinema, I can watch whatever I like and no one else to suit. I have been to concerts on my own. Sometimes I read.

You can enjoy this time. Make sure you do.

Can you go out? Id go for a nice walk, go watch a movie (snaffle in a flask of wine) then pick up a takeaway on the way home.

I struggle with the confidence to do things on my own.
I'm out with friends tomorrow night, and without sounding woe is me I don't have enough friends to go out two nights in a row, and most people will be at home with family tonight.

It's what I do ever other weekend you'd think I'd be used to it. Two days of silence and two nights of being on my own.

I think it runs deeper than the superficial I don't want to be on my own but I can't change that quickly either.

I found this at first. But use the time to recharge. Take the time for you and acheive something. I used to decorate, or cook something, or give myself a real pamper. Do something for you. You deserve it and will be refreshed when your dc come home

I used to be nervous of doing stuff on my own, but it's something you get more confident about as you go on. I don't have masses of friends or ones who are free in the evenings, so I just think of things I want to do, and just do them.

My situation isn't quite the same, as I am older and I do have a casual bf I see sometimes as well, so I am buoyed up by "don't give a shit"-ness.

But there's no reason you can't make this a pleasant time for yourself. Or productive.
