anyone else out there who is plain unpopular

my own bro and sil don't want to know me and my kids... hubby family hates me... and work colleagues cant be bothered... cuz forget to invite me to get together... extended family have their own tight knit group and live other side of town. so no entry there. parents live abroad... dad loves me but mum supports bro plus extended family more that she does me.

thing is i am actually a good person... but i am frm out of this country not raised here. not rich... not pretty... not popular... my husband also not popular and vert shy and introvert.

anyone else sees only closed doors when it comes to compassion? mnths can go by without a call frm anyone frm my our husband family

It does seem very unusual that all of these people appear to have issues with you.

Being from out of this country, finances, appearance aren't that important imho. Being present, somebody who joins in and is approachable is far more important in my book.

I live in a seaside town where many of the locals dislike me. The name calling in the street is ridiculous, like high school. I've been told it is because I run a successful business, have a nice house, dress nice (obviously they haven't seen me on the school run looking like a tramp!) and don't spend time in the local pub where the in-crowd of locals hang out to invent gossip about everyone within a mile radius. I am too busy with my family and work life to bother with these people, and I don't care what they think of me. I probably do give a 'closed off' vibe as I am not interested in making friends with these losers.

If I had more time, I would make friends through my interests. I hear Meetup can be good, and going to evening classes can put you in touch with like-minded people. I meet loads of people walking my dogs and think that is a good way to make new friendships. Basically no-one is going to knock your door in, so you have to get out there and join some social clubs.

thanks troll and scooby... yes i agree i cant complain if i havent made an effort... but i have and at times really gone out of my way... beggars cant be choosers and all that... but not in a desperate sort of way. i think people can be quite harsh as in if they hav their tight knit group, they dont really need to worry about hurting feelings... say fir example all the ladies in family plan a holiday and leave me out cos i got kids... fair enuf ... but they use my kids as an excuse but for 8 years before that i didn't hav kids and they still never invited me. so how much can i put myself forward. i hav get together at my place constantly and they all attend... so its not like i slip out of their mind.

but i guess i expect more frm them cos i dont hav friends of my own. don't socialise much at work cos i dont take a break cos need to leave to pick up kids.
