Trying to make sene of the law before I see a solicitor. Are all assets to be shared out? He has a part share in a business (started during marriage) and rental properties (bought before our marriage). Thank you.

This may help. There are really too many variables for us to be able to answer you properly - length of marriage, whether you have any children etc. The solicitor will give you the advice you need but if you read the above before hand you'll have a better idea.

Have a chat with solicitor to see what they say.
It does depend on length of marriage, what you brought to the relationship financially etc....
