Please tell me I'm not the only one who has had sex and/or masturbated on my bed while our baby was asleep a few feet away.

I was doing it without thinking but now I'm getting guilty feelings...

There are (and have been throughout history) loads of cultures and countries in which long term cosleeping / 1 room homes are normal.

Why do you think you're feeling guilty?

You are not alone! I used to put blankets over the side of the cot that my babies slept in. We co slept for years with both babies, whilst we had the bedside cot and could cover the side we made do with a quickly. Once they were tots that toddled through to our bed, sex was usually on the sofa or at any opportune moment possible! Its great now they are older and sleep all night in their own beds!

We did. Our son is 17 months old and only went into his own room last month.

Please stop having any guilty feelings. Your baby has NO idea what's going on. Relax and enjoy yourself!

I'm just impressed that (1) either of you has the energy and (2) that the baby didn't wake up.

GP prescribed the pill for me 7 weeks ago with lots of song & dance about breastfeeding not being a contraceptive... boxes are still unpoened on the shelf and I feel like telling her breastfeeding is a perfect contraceptive, albeit not via the mechanism she was thinking of

Breastfeeding has added a whoooooole new dimension to our sex life this evening! DH got the 5week old down this evening (miracle! Usually she wants to BF and vomit for hours on end 🤔) and so, with whole more hours in bed before us I was very excited and instigated a celebratory DTD. Only i started "raining milk" down onto him at some point!... I had no idea. Lights were off, he felt it but it felt nice and he hadn't put 2&2 together and worked out what it was...

There was a wet silhouette of his whole torso on the bed 😂

Thank god for waterproof mattress protectors!!!

She has woken up before but I'm pretty sure she was ok with it 😇

Don't feel guilty. We always used to do that, when my eldest was young.

We have sex with baby in the same room, no other option unless we abstain for 6 months. We just try keep it quiet, more so not to wake her up!

I wouldn't with her in bed with us though.

It's fiiine. DH always felt a bit weird about it but we just made sure he couldn't see the baby :D. We stopped when he was about 1 though as he was more interested in everything and neither of us liked the idea of turning round to see a little quizzical face peering over the edge of the crib at us. He moved into his own room (at least occasionally) then anyway though.

Baby hasn't a clue what's happening so I wouldn't be worried about that. What's more concerning is when they are old enough to come looking for you at night. Happened to us with DS 2.5 but luckily the lights were out and we heard him coming into the room....

Another here who doesn't mind 'Dtd' with a young baby in the room. Will change when she becomes more aware of her surroundings. My LO is quite good at waking up whilst we are getting started though; she apparently doesn't want any siblings!!!
