Empress13 had this brilliant idea to start regional threads for all those looking to make new friends, as a part of NY resolutions or otherwise :)
this is the original thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/relationships/2816505-Friends?pg=3

I am in London and I would love to make some decent friends this year :)

Same here I'm single parent in north london 47 would like to meet some new peoplex

Bant · 02/01/2017 18:11

I'd recommend starting a Meetup group or something, rather than just posting on here - for security and traceability.

There are lots of oddballs on the Internet

pringlecat · 02/01/2017 18:20

Also, if you start a Meetup group, you're less likely to have a Daily Mail journalist tag along and write a story about you. Just sayin'. Wink

MatildaTheCat · 02/01/2017 18:25

I met a friend today for coffee who I met on here. She lives thousands of miles away and we only meet very occasionally in RL but we get on really well.

So it can work.

blackopium · 02/01/2017 18:26

I'm in London. Late 20's.

AmberNectarine · 02/01/2017 22:09

I'm in London and I'll be anyone's friend Smile

Bant · 02/01/2017 22:16

Can I suggest a Facebook or whatsapp group first or something?

Seriously, that way it's still relatively private and people can be ejected if they're weird.

I won't join, as I'm a bloke and that would be odd in a group of mums, but really, this is open to any Tom, dick or Harry, so there needs to be some level of security first before everyone happily rocks up to a coffee shop

QuarterMileAtATime · 02/01/2017 22:16

I'm in London (SW). Smile Early 30s. Still getting used to having time to myself at the weekends while DC are with their dad!

RobinSnood · 03/01/2017 07:07

How do you want to organise it? Happy to exchange numbers via PM, or could just meet up somewhere central/fairly busy?

ImprovisingNow · 03/01/2017 07:47

Great idea, count me in. I'm a single parent mid fifties living in central London.

Happy to make contact via PM as there are just a few of us.

blackopium · 03/01/2017 08:23

Cool, let's PM our numbers and take it from there?
