& I'm just ShockHmm fuck off

One of them only lives 6 doors away... Hmm

I have done nothing to encourage this...

Of course I said no. They seem to think a newly divorced woman is up for it.... One of them even had the balls to say 'I'll help you spend your settlement!' ShockShock -No you won't ffs.

OP posts:
fallenempires · 31/12/2016 19:54

Uggh horrible! I had this too & was told 'you must be gagging for it as you're divorced now!' Shock

BubblingUp · 31/12/2016 20:03

I get this constantly as well and I am in my 50s and long time celibate. Sometimes they are far younger than me! They are so predicable in their seduction techniques it's hilarious.

YetAnotherUser · 31/12/2016 20:09

Should have said yes... Then told their wives.

Everstrong · 31/12/2016 20:36

There must be something in the air, my married work colleague cracked on to me.

He knows I'm married.

Wtf is wrong with these men?!

Nellyphants · 31/12/2016 20:37

Well you're newly divorced, bet you're gagging for it. They're doing you a favour you ungrateful wrench

LockedOutOfMN · 31/12/2016 20:43

Sorry to hear that, OP. A friend of mine does online dating and is regularly asked out by married men.

Trooperslane · 31/12/2016 20:45

Boke.

(Them, obv).

NancyJoan · 31/12/2016 20:48

Ugh. Have often heard about this. What on earth do they think they are doing?!

Shayelle · 31/12/2016 20:49

Horrible. I still lie at workand say im partnered up. (As I work with mostly blokes and a lot of them are creepy and get all pervy otherwise). I feel your pain!! Confused

8FencingWire · 31/12/2016 21:08

God, I 'lost' a very old friend to this type of behaviour!!!
I've known him since I was a teen. I split up with H, went to this party and he just hit on me. Apparently he needs some fun in his life. I initially thought he's being funny. WTF???!!
He texted me afterwards too, to reiterate.
Idiot. I'm telling his wife next time I see her.

LockedOutOfMN · 31/12/2016 21:12

Good for you, 8FencingWire!

Has anyone heard of a married woman coming onto a newly single / separated / divorced male friend or colleague?

BumDNC · 31/12/2016 21:41

Has happened to me many times

Carlinamoon1 · 31/12/2016 23:29

Yes this happens to me on a regular basis and started as soon as I separated a year ago. This is precisely why I would never consider getting married again!

oldfatandtired1 · 31/12/2016 23:32

Oh, me too. I'm 55, two years divorced and very happy with my new life. A girlfriend tells me it's because I look 'available' now I'm divorced. Quite happy to be 'available' but only to fellow divorcees, widowers or singles thank you!

Inexperiencedchick · 01/01/2017 00:35

"I'm married and I can offer you a place of a second wife"

That what I've been offered in 2016 😂

He went to hell with the help of my mouth 😉

MotherTeresasCat · 01/01/2017 00:43

Happens a lot. I'm long term single but still get married men trying their luck. Some bloke turned up at my front door once with a mahoosive bunch of pink roses, asking if I wanted to go for a coffee. Turned out he lived with his wife just round the corner.

SheFeedsYouTeaAndOranges · 01/01/2017 08:22

Brace yourself for it. It's going to get worse.

Friends' husbands; married friends of friends; colleagues...

I've been single for 4 years now and it doesn't stop.

It's appalling.

Fumbledore · 01/01/2017 19:11

A married woman came onto me, we were having a few pints at the pub, she was a former work colleague I got on well with. Her DH had just gone to the loo. Hmm

I've politely avoided her since. Yes she knew I was married.

nicenewdusters · 01/01/2017 19:30

Yep, I've had the odd inappropriate comment from friend's dh's since I became single, including being told he was glad I was "back on the market". Quickly told him I was on nobody's market. No surprise that I know (he doesn't) that he cheated on his wife with their neighbour.

Had a "drunken" text a few weeks ago from a close friend's partner. Apparently he thought I'd be flattered to know he'd like to kiss me, and would I like to go for a coffee? No, piss off.

Makes me look very Hmm at a lot of men now.

SamanthaBrique · 01/01/2017 19:36

Given past experiences, I am now convinced that, if they knew there was absolutely no chance they'd get caught, almost all married men would cheat.

TheNaze73 · 01/01/2017 19:37

Sadly, it's not just married men that do this.

A cheat is a cheat, whatever their sex

SamanthaBrique · 01/01/2017 19:38

Sorry, yes, I meant men in relationships in general.

QueenoftheAndals · 01/01/2017 19:39

He went to hell with the help of my mouth 😉

The mind boggles!!

GoodEyebrowDay · 01/01/2017 21:21

Been with DH for almost 7 years & not a whiff of an advancement from anyone else

Don't know whether to be sad or relieved Grin

fallenempires · 01/01/2017 21:49

Trust me be glad!
Have been in a LTR for a similar amount of time. However due to the field of work that I'm in I have experienced a fair amount of unwanted attention,I think alot of these idiots view my politeness & professionalism as some kind of green light.
