It looked as if it was going to be amicable. But I am starting to suspect (prob a little late on the game) that it is only amicable as long as I say yes and it is all his.

I may need to prepare myself.

Any advise is welcome and suggestion of a good layer, even if not sh, in north london or herts.

Stbxh is going to move out in a couple of week into a flat we have bought. It is a trial although I think we both know there's not much left to save. I suspect we are fooling ourselves to soften the blow.

It is for the major part very civilised and amicable but, as I said, it all goes back to the "it's all mine" blah blah

I'd like to get some info on how it could go were we decided to continue on this path. I think I need someone to ram it in me that I am entitled to whatever I am entitled to have.

How old are the dc? Do you work and have you and stbxh come to any agreement relating to childcare arrangements?

Would a mortgage raised on the apartment be sufficient to pay off the mortgage on the marital home (the house), or would the savings be sufficient to clear the mortgage?

Dc are young. 9 and 10.

Saving would halve the mortgage. They are money I've just inherited and before I put them into the mortgage I need to know where I stand
