Don't know where my OH is!

Just realised. Left on Monday, back on Friday with work. Forgot to ask where he is going. I spoke to him briefly and I know he had a steak for dinner, but that's it. He may be in London or Reading or Doncaster. Would you need to know?

No

sooperdooper · 05/10/2016 22:39

Just ask him! I've been known not to ask/remember where DH is with work and I travel a lot so he probably forgets too, as long as he's safe it's not the end of the world

LellyMcKelly · 05/10/2016 22:40

Does he not have a phone?

ChequeOff · 05/10/2016 22:41

Does he have a phone? Why don't you just call/text him? In the kindest way, why the angst?

user1474781546 · 05/10/2016 22:41

I don't really need to know, just struck me as a little odd not knowing where is is.

Glad that others don't mind.

My mother spoke to me today and said where is X.I said I didn't know, she thought that was very strange.

I go on business trips every few weeks, as does my DP. I can't even remember where we both were last! Unless it's a safety issue, don't worry about it Smile

MilesHuntsWig · 05/10/2016 22:46

Not odd if he travels a lot.

JammyDodger16 · 05/10/2016 22:46

No. People were often shocked when I admitted I had no idea where dp was when he delivered cars. He literally covered every part of the country and I just stopped asking! He told me if it was anywhere interesting / very far away

BrieAndChilli · 05/10/2016 22:47

Does he have find my iPhone? Our accounts are joined so we can see each other's phones.

Damia · 05/10/2016 22:48

I would only wonder for peace of mind in an emergency. How many hrs for him to get home? Or if there was like a terrorist attack wouldnt u like to know he was nowhere near it?

IloveAiredales · 05/10/2016 22:49

Nope I often have no idea quite where my dp is, he travels almost every week for 1/2 nights - life is too busy to remember every time. He has a mobile ( although signal is often crap) and I can ring his office in an emergency - no problem

Joysmum · 05/10/2016 23:00

This sounds like me and my DH. He came home today, packed a bag and went away, no notice!

We have 'find friends' on our phones which helps enormously so I know if he'll be home for dinner and he can see if I've got back from my hobby safely.

It really gives peace of mind, especially when there are terror attacks and he's in the area.

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 05/10/2016 23:14

Oh, that is not odd if he travels a lot with work. My DH goes to the US a lot, because he works for a US company, I regularly find myself saying 'he's in Chicago' and then thinking 'or is it New York this time?" SO YANBU Grin

TopazRocks · 05/10/2016 23:19

If your mother asks again, can't you just make something up? Grin

I get dh to fwd me his itinerary so that I know flight times and hotels. I didn't used to, but once mil rang and told me fil had had a heart attack, and I only knew he was in Egypt - had no idea where- and he wasn't answering his phone.

Fortunately I managed to get hold of him the following day, just before fil was due to go down for triple bypass. So now he forwards me his itinerary. I don't memorize it, but I can always find it if I need to. For example, at the mo he is Toronto. Or possibly just outside. Ish. But I have the deets electronically if anything happens and he has got his phone off or whatever.

Bythebeach · 06/10/2016 06:40

I've had this occasionally when OH has been travelling to 2 or 3 countries for work. I found it a bit disconcerting so he normally forwards me his itinerary - I don't tend to look at it but know there's a back up way to contact him if mobile runs out of charge etc.
