STBXH ignoring DC dietary requirements

DC has recently gone on a diet to help with IBS. It's really working and DC has had a lot less issues.
I have informed STBXH of this.
DC went to STBXH weekend just gone.
STBXH did not keep to the diet at all. By the time DC came home the IBS was really bad.
I am almost NC with STBXH other than necessities and then I keep it to facts, no long winded conversations (which get twisted).
I just do not know what to do.
I know STBXH has not respected other people's dietary requirements in the past.

How old is your DC?

Is this diet medically sanctioned and supervised? If it is then you have grounds to insist on supervised contact or SS involvement because he is neglecting your childs medical needs. If not then its a bit more difficult.

How old is DC? Are I assume they have actually been diagnosed with ibs and the diet is a medical recommendation?

If that's the case the surely you can insist on the diet being followed? In court even as a last resort? If it's making the child ill

DC is 13 and has talked to STBXH about it but it was dismissed. DC is good at reading food labels but it's when STBXH cooks that things can get in that DC shouldn't eat.

It started when DC noticed certain food were making things worse therefore didn't want to eat them and so I read up on it and the diet is an NHS recognised diet for IBS. I am in the process of getting GP involved and hopefully referral to dietician (no idea about waiting lists so starting sooner).
For once I'm hopping this can get medicalised if that means more grounds for insisting on it.

I just can't comprehend that if DC and STBXW say certain foods will cause child to be ill and in pain, why would anyone ignore it? It was obvious that DC was in pain by end of weekend not just something he could sleep through (STBXH answer to DC's pain ).

Oh and IBS was the GP's diagnosis with general 'stay clear of IBS inducing symptom food' but no exact information. So back to GP to talk about exact diet (and hopefully referral to dietician).

Is it the FODMAP diet? I thought that wasn't recommended for children unless a paediatrician was supervising it.

Stubble I could understand if it was for a young child or for one that didn't have a good well balanced diet. I am lucky that DC loves all sorts of food so when removing one food there is always a good alternative or a way to replace the nutrients.
As it is, GP already suggested removing foods from diet that were know for causing IBS issues. With no list or any referral, but I am pressing for it if it means getting STBXH to take notice.
Thx for the replies everyone, it is good to know that if all else fails that getting It medicalised would mean I can take it to court if need be.

I think without an actual medical diagnosis and a medical recommendation for IBS diet, there isn't really a lot you can do.

Once you have a diagnosis then mayb if your ex continues to not listen and make DD sick, you would be able to seek legal advice
