By text, he was replying straight away until I sent that, then tumbleweed!

How long ago?

fastdaytears · 02/10/2016 20:42

It's a win-win situation. You'll get a date or you'll know not to waste any more energy on him!

But update us either way!

How do you know him?

TheNaze73 · 02/10/2016 20:44

Don't sweat it, give it time

NoncommittalToSparkleMotion · 02/10/2016 20:46

Give it time!

Is he a friend?

LynseyH · 02/10/2016 20:48

Maybe he went in the shower or battery died?! How long ago was it?

Believeitornot · 02/10/2016 20:50

What was the conversation and how did you ask?

travellinglighter · 02/10/2016 20:51

Horrible isn't it. You'll know soon and can move on or go on a date. I'm in a relationship now but when I was on internet dating I had to do it a lot and I hated it. The surge of adrenaline when they said yes was almost addictive, the disappointment when they said no wasn't much fun.

Good luck 😉

ButteredToastAndStrawberryJam · 02/10/2016 20:55

A coward dies many times before his death - Shakespeare. You are not a coward, you went for it, life is too short to piss about.

ImperialBlether · 02/10/2016 21:21

It's not fair of him to not answer - miserable bastard!

AtSea1979 · 02/10/2016 21:30

Well it must be a long shower or battery dying at that exact moment is some coincidence!
He's a friend, I haven't known him long we have a hobby we see each other at so I'll see him again next weekend that'll be awkward if he doesn't reply.
We had lunch out with the hobby group and I suggested we could do it again with the others.

When I liked my dh, I texted him first and cringed so badly when I got nothing back... turned out he'd actually messaged me first but it never got to me. Nor did his reply to my message.

Luckily I happened to see him again and when he showed me his phone I was actually ecstatic and doing a bad job of hiding it Grin

So you never know!

1DAD2KIDS · 02/10/2016 23:51

Either way what else could you do? Not send a text and never knowing? Then one day he finds someone else and you always regretting to asking?

Either way I think you did the right thing. Hope it turns out Ok for you.

AtSea1979 · 03/10/2016 06:57

Still hasn't replied and would have been up for work by now, clearly a lucky escape if he can't even reply.

HandyWoman · 03/10/2016 07:03

Ah OP, barring some freak accident/power cut/Act of God, no reply at all means he's actually s knob.

Rudeness. Good that you found out so soon!

Well, you could muster some courage and ask him directly the next time you see him, although I know it is going to be hard. If he is just ignoring any and all attempts of you asking him out, this probably means he is not interested but he doesn't want to say it directly. Making reads of such situations always feels so awkward, I hate it when people don't speak their minds!!!

katemess12 · 03/10/2016 07:27

Ugh. Sorry, OP. It sucks. Sad

I don't understand how people can just think it's fine to blatantly ignore a message where the other person has put themselves out of their comfort zone, and yet, it happens often. Bloody nobscrots.

Fadingmemory · 03/10/2016 07:29

What a rude boy not to reply. Wonder about the tone of your text... Was it casual and low key (Coffee later?) or stronger (Would love to see you again!). Anyway, you may have had a lucky escape so try and focus on that.

AtSea1979 · 03/10/2016 22:30

It's a date. Got a message this morning saying he's fallen asleep on sofa and woke at 2am. Not entirely convinced but then I'm skeptical about everyone.

🎉🎉🎉 Oh that's brilliant OP! Will await update on how date goes. Good luck!

Walkacrossthesand · 03/10/2016 22:52

I frequently sofa-doze and wake at stupid o'clock - I wouldn't reply to a text I found then, far too many embarrassing explanations needed! Enjoy your date Smile
