had my haircut on weds

I'm crap at getting my hair cut .. had long conversation with her and left it in her hands telling her I wanted a style and not to look like the raging hippy I look like

it really honestly doesn't look like she's done anythign .. its a touch neater but still annoyingly in my face

am going back tomorrow to get it coloured .. do I mention anything

I know this hairdresser won't be in

but it wasn't a cheap haircut .. it was £40

imo i think you should saysomething as my hairdresser didnt do a good job of my colour once and i found the bottle to say somthing she sorted it out straight away and said she prefers it if someone is not happy to tell them so it can be fixed. so yes say something £40 is a lot of money if your not 100% happy xxxxx

Sheraz · 05/02/2007 16:05

Definitely mention it. They should sort it for you. At £40 they won't want to lose your future custom.
Just say something like' I can't manage it like this..

Tatties · 05/02/2007 16:05

This has happened to me before. I have been very nice about it and said something along the lines of, "oh, when I got home and washed/styled it myself it didn't look right/as good as it did on weds..." I think if you paid £40, you can ask them to do a bit more styling/cutting if you are not entirely happy. But be really nice about it, then they can't refuse.

Twiglett · 05/02/2007 16:08

I didn't like it at the time tbh .. It didn't feel any different ..

friend says I should say something .. but I don't feel comfortable

funny how hairdressers scare me but I can do a presentation to the Marketing Director at P&G or Warners and not batt an eyelid

Oh you must say something, then they will sort it out for you.

I once had a double whammy haircut and colour go wrong at the same time. Got my hair cut and coloured for nothing until it was how I wanted it in the first place.

Twiglett · 05/02/2007 16:11

should I phone up in advance

I know she isn't in tomorrow when I'm going in for the colour

is it mean to say something behind her back

what do I say

mary - i thought you was giving labour today!!! or unless youve recovered brilliantly!!!!!!

Biglips · 05/02/2007 16:13

sorry about the hjjack

marymillington · 05/02/2007 16:15

Yes, ring them today - say you're a bit disappointed with the haircut, you needed something a bit more radical and can anyone take a look whilst you are there tomorrow. Be smiley and friendly but firm.

(biglips - i don't think it works quite like that! still nearly 8 hours left though. otherwise C/s on Thursday)

marymillington · 05/02/2007 16:16

It is totally reasonable to ask them to do that by the way.

Twiglett · 05/02/2007 16:18

oh no ... I couldn't say that .. simply couldn't

I'm a bit disappointed = you did a bad job

eek

Just lie a bit, say you thought it was ok at the time, but now that you've had chance to 'live' with it for a bit you don't think it's quite 'you'. I think sometimes hairdressers are scared of taking off too much - maybe that's why you don't think it's much different. You need to just say you could have done with a bit more off - nothing against the hairdresser. They'll probably appreciate the feedback.

marymillington · 05/02/2007 18:31

twig - you can, you can.
its either that or every time you go back she will ask you if you liked it last time and you'll have to LIE or just have the same cut again and again
maybe ring in the morning when you know she won't be there.
or do it in an apologetic type way - make out it was your fault for not being precise enough.....

Twiglett · 06/02/2007 14:34

I did, I did

not to same hairdresser

she fixed in in about 5 mins .. it just needed shaping round my face

its nice now .. am happy
