How to stop punishing yourself?

I made a stupid mistake a while ago now.
I still feel extreme guilt about it and I don't know how to stop punishing myself?
It's like I want to make myself suffer.
I've moved on since and now I'm pregnant and trying to rebuild my life but I can't seem to do it.
Anyone been in a similar position?
It's really affected my life and I should be ok now.

I really sympathise OP as what you describe is very hard to overcome. You can't, in sense, be told to just 'get over it' etc - when you no longer 'care' about it as much psychologically will tend to happen when it happens.

Easier said than done, I know - but what really helps is trying to find a new focus. This will make you pay attention to the future and make you not look back with regrets.

In my opinion, this sort of thing is very similar in it's way to OCD.

And remember the saying - 'it's not about how you fall down, it's how you get up that matters!'
