Why are so many men so shitty? After reading several threads on here it seems so many males think they can treat others so badly ,like there entitled to it! I have a good partner but he's lied to me on several occasions about one particular subject, why do they have to lie, I'm not stupid but can't always trust what he's saying to me. Grrr, just having a rant

It's worse on here because most posters are female. Women do it too OP, perhaps more sneakily too. I'd not spend five minutes with any man who gave me the impression of superiority or entitlement - and neither would I put up with a liar.

I'm sorry if I was too subtle. I wasn't silencing the OP I was challenging the blatant and offensive sexism from adora.

I don't like to make generalisations about the motives of others, may be helpful to talk about your own relationship. What's he lied to you about OP?

It was a general rant about men treating others so crappily, just in my case some lies. I realise of course that women lie too, just wish men in general would treat others respectfully!

attsca when people make sweeping generalisations about women or men, unfortunately it's more obvious how prejudiced it is if you replace "women" (for example) with "black people" or "gay people". E.g. "women lie, but they're more sneaky than men" should be obviously prejudiced and unacceptable, but to some people in our culture it's only when you try out, "black people lie, but they're more sneaky than white people" that the offensiveness of the generalisation is apparent.

OP your argument is about perspective, it's like spending the week in a dentists' waiting room and concluding that all people suffer from painful teeth.

I think your viewpoint is slightly unbalanced as this forum is mainly posted upon by females & normally when there's an issue. There are millions of happy & succesful unions in the Uk but, a bit like when you have bad service in a shop, we complain, yet when we get good service we don't generally tell the world.

When TheNaze73 asserts that the o/p is'Slightly unbalanced', for expressing her opinion she is essentially invalidating the original poster . Its called an ad homini for anyone interested and its a device used to attack an individual instead of attacking the basic premise of the argument.

Its also known as a cheap shot and a very lazy way of trying and failing, to make your point.

What % of MN posters are women? Impossible to say as not all posts have a big screaming gender identifier built in. But at a guess based on posts I read, maybe 90%+
