How do you forgive and let go of resentment?

DH has done some crappy things due to mental illness over the last several years.

I'm struggling with letting go.

It's not one sided, Iv done some shit too. We've hurt each other badly.

We both want to make it work but recognise right now it's not the healthiest of relationships. The love is there, the skill isn't. We were both products of dysfunctional marriages ourselves.

We tried counselling but didn't find it that helpful tbh - it feels like we know what our feelings are - we need to equip ourselves to deal with them in a healthy way

Aren't their courses that teach you this stuff?
