Need to Vent - Something Neutral Leads to Worry

For the nth time today, something new, but neutral happened (neutral as in, nothing is likely to happen after this) and yet, DP systematically assumes that things will go wrong and lists the negative repercussions.

It's despairing because I sometimes challenge and ask "how do we know things will go wrong? Maybe DC wont get a cold?"

It's a real brake on the relationship because a potentially enjoyable afternoon turns into a scramble to ward off the unlikely.

Even when something positive happens it is welcomed with "the only thing is..." Can't we just enjoy and rejoice for once?
