Truth or lie !

Been together for 26 years two almost adult children one about to start uni one last year at school. We've had our issues over the years, always pulled though . He is married to his job which has progressed well I have in the last couple of years developed mine. We do have a big issue at the moment with money and are paying off jointy some mutual debts. However I thought we were honest about it all with each other, over the last few year there was a rumour that he had had an affair which he strongly denied and I did believe him but now I'm not so sure. I found out today buy pure accident that he has borrowed a large amount of money from his mum. He did this previous and tried to blame it on me. Said its because I would have wanted something. I now find my self questioning everything why borrow the money what was it for ? Did he have the affair ? I'm a professional women but scared to ask him what the money was for because I don't want to be blamed for it of lied too. Just looking for a bit of advice please

What a horrid position to be in. I don't see why you can't ask him especially as it was your joint goal to clear debts. As to whether he will lie or not you might be able to tell by his reaction. See how defensive he is. Why is he blaming you for borrowing money? hmmmmm.
About the affair. Where did you hear these rumours?
Can you check his phone records or bank account/ credit cards? That's what I did and boy did I find out a lot.

Would he really borrow money to have an affair? Or do you think it's because he accumulated debts during an affair and borrowed the money to pay the debts off?

Did you check credit card bills at the time?

Rumours start from somewhere. So where did it stem from?. How did you get to hear about it?

Thanks for replying newworldnow and sandyy2k. I'm not very good at posting. There is a bigger picture, however you have given me lots to think about and try to work out the bigger picture.
