I have always had my child maintenance payments calculated by the CSA. Been separated 8 years. For the first few years, I'm sure the calculation was right, but a couple of years in, I was shocked at what they said his weekly income was, as it had severely dropped since we separated. I queried it with the CSA, and they were adamant it was correct.
Fast forward to March this year and ExH has suddenly (and for no apparent reason) stopped paying, so in March I opened a new case with Child Maintenance Options. They have the ability to go directly to HMRC, for his salary info.
It turns out that he is earning 4 times as much as the CSA said he was!
And their last calculation was only 10 months ago, so there's no way he has had a fourfold increase in salary in 10 months.
This means that I have been underpaid by tens of thousands.
Does anyone know, if there is anything that I can do about this?
I am on a fairly low salary and I buy EVERYTHING for the kids. Turns out he earns £10k a month! I had no idea!
Any advice much appreciated.
