I spilt up with my dp a couple of months ago (had a thread on here at the time). I moved back to my home town and things have been going well. I have got to go to the town I lived in for a meeting with my old employer on Monday morning so I am staying at ex dps over night Sunday (we get on fine)!so I messaged a friend who lives in the town last week to see if they wanted to go for a drink/food on Sunday night and they said yes.

Anyway, I have just messaged them to confirm time and place etc and there reply was 'I have no memory of this conversation'

I replied with a screen shot of the conversation we had about meeting up and they replied 'oh ye, I suppose I'd better meet up with you then, I've been so busy I just forgot'

I replied saying it doesn't matter, I'll see you next time I'm in town. They haven't replied to this

Am I over reacting and cutting off my nose to spite my face? I haven't been out once since splitting with do so was looking forward to a night out but just feel like they can't be arsed with it so I can't be arsed with them. Or am I being stupid?

Don't chase them, just let it be. If they wanted to see you they would make an effort.

Thanks everyone, glad to know I'm not being irrational. The sad thing is I turned down an invitation for Saturday night from another friend as I could only afford go out one evening and didn't want to let the first friend down bitter laugh .

It does really hurt and I feel a bit teary about it especially because I'll have to spend the evening with ex dp Its made me feel like absolute shit. They have replied to the message to say it isn't nothing personal, they just have a bad memory but I think they're just making excuses. I'm not a sad case who needs to beg someone to spend time with me.

What a horrible cow. If she was a real friend, even if she didn't remember the convo she'd say "oh how lovely can't wait to see you". Personally I would tell her to stick it up her a*se, but you're probably nicer than me

Even if she did genuinely forget that's an awful way to reply. Especially with so many emojis around. I think I'd pile a few blushy faces and a genuine apology.

Can you contact Friend 2 and explain that your prior booking is now cancelled and still meet up with her?

Ye exactly, if it was the other way round I would have sorted the time and place and then wondered how I'd managed to forget.

I can't go out Saturday, my friend managed to get two tickets to a local event and asked me. When I said I wasn't free he asked someone else. Oh well, Takeaway and wine it is as usual

Our ds will be with me. And we get on fine, but that doesn't mean I'd like to spend a cosy night in with him. The meeting is first thing Monday morning so just easier to up the night before, I haven't got a car so would have to get the first train of the day with a tired ds

I've literally just checked the cinema listings Cabrinha, you must be a mind reader. It's either going to be batman vs superman or the jungle book? Not often I get to go to the cinema with having DS so my friend has actually done me a favour!
