Male users of Tinder feel its ok to use women....

....if the men feel that the woman has "misrepresented" herself.

If they want a LTR but the woman has posted pics that they feel dont match up to reality then they think its ok to use her and discard her.

The poor Dr who was interviewed clearly had terrible nerves and struggled to find her notes, but keep listening.

Havent had time to listen to it yet but IMO the whole premise of online dating has created a sweetshop mentality in a lot of men who use the sites and the apps.

Which is why i did have a bit of a giggle at an article in a mag a few months ago written by a woman who uses Tinder to blag free dinners on dates.

You do here of cases where Tinder works for LTR purposes. Tinder gets a bad rap but a fair portion of work colleagues & friends both female & male are on Tinder for sex. I think getting dinner is not their priority

I feel the same about men who have blatantly used unrepresentative photos. I'm quite happy to let them buy me dinner and then sack them off.

Of course, it does beg the question of what degree of misrepresentation there is. Putting up photos of yourself 10 years younger and 4 stone lighter is just stupid, but I have a feeling some men justify a pump-n-dump by saying "Yeah she totally mis-sold herself because in her photos she was smiling but in reality she sometimes had a serious expression on here face."

You could have the most accurate photos in the world and your actual body measurements on a dating site: in reality you're still going to have to deal with fuck and run merchants.

I thought it was interesting because it looked at why these men felt that they could simply use a woman when she didnt come up to their expectations in RL.

Ive listened to it now. Just rubber stamps why i would never online date.

What was the word she used? Commodification? Treating women as things, products almost. It was interesting but quite chilling.

I do think that some women do the same with men though. I know a few of those women myself!

in a situation like OLD, it definitely goes both ways.

I am not saying that they dont, but this particular study was purely about men.
