The subject says it all, how do you say to someone who you've been with for a long time 'I don't love you, Its over' ? I've been in an awful ea relationship for years it's always been what he says goes and for the second night in a row I've been subject to what an awful person I am. Ive tried to get legal advise through work but it's not materialised but things were going better so I haven't pursued it. My crime today was falling asleep on the sofa whilst he was out all day ( I have an appointment this week for a lump in my breast so I'm very nervous and it's keeping me awake at night so im tired in the day) I want to get Thursday over with then if it's good news start the leaving process .

You just say it, there is no other way. Its awful to have to say it and awful to be on the end of it too I've been in both positions but it has to be done.

I don't want to be in a relationship with you any more. Then be strong and stick to your guns. Prepare for emotional blackmail, don't succumb to it.

Yoi dont need to bring emotions into it at all. You can say you are not being in this relationship anymore. But can you not sort out the legal Advice first?

Thanks slowdeacreace, it's just I've been broken Down over the years and we have children, his opinion seems to be the rule in this house im tired and I feel this 'lump' is my fault - I don't think I'm a bad person but I just want to cry/sob and all my friends are busy - I just want to be treated like his friends xx

I hear you..stop wishing he would be different, the only thing you are in control of is you and telling him you don't love him anymore and backing it up with actions is something you and only you has to do, you can do it and you should. X

You really don't have to say much more thank "I do not love you anymore. This relationship is over".

You don't have to argue with him or talk it through. If he is an EA this is probably the best way. Remember you do not need to argue with him.

Sod that. Ring Women's Aid ask for advice. Have you read back what you've written and how ridiculous it is for him to have a go. You can talk to friends but it's you that needs to show him he can't push you about and you won't tolerate it. Hope the lump is just a scare and nothing more.
