Is this controlling?

I've been dating my boyfriend for two years and I'm wondering whether some of his weird behaviour verges on controlling.

For example on Saturday we were driving back from the rubbish dump and we went to the McDonalds drive-thru. I was deciding what to order and he said I had to have a Happy Meal.

If he didn't let you keep the free toy, then yes. That's wrong.

Was he trying to save money as a happy meal is cheaper? if so you could have said you wanted a chicken burger and paid for it yourself.

Oh yeah - just remembered it's half term innit!

Toys are rubbish at the moment. I had a Happy Meal on Saturday and it came with a watch that didn't work.

Re the controlling behaviour, OP, we are going to need more info.

If he normally tells you what to eat then yes. If not then no.

Can you give more examples?

The fact you are asking implies he has done things like this previously

Now if you'd gone to the McDonalds drive-thru on the way to the dump, that would have made more sense
