I never got the apology and never will but do feel I've got to the point where it doesn't matter much but it will always rankle.

Nearly 20 years, 2 DC, OW etc. Old news now but this "inspiring quote" really did strike a chord with me.

Yeah, I can relate to this.

For me the 'apology you never got' is understanding how you got from emotionally A to B.

You've got to give that apology/explanation/forgiveness to yourself because staying a victim is truly pointless.
