How do you split looking after ill kids when both you and DH are ill too

Just that really. DS ill since sunday - high temp and ear infections, DH ill from yesterday pm, me last night and DD today - all high temps, hot and cold, fluey type things.

I got up 2 x in night with DS and once with DD. I get up this morning. Look after both DS and DD (7 and 4) whilst feeling pretty rotten myself. DH stays in bed all morning.

Overhears me moaning about not everyone gets to stay in bed when ill (I know a bit PA of me) Comes down to shout at me to say he deserves to stay in bed and have sympathy when ill. I should have the kids as it is not a work day for me (I work 3 days to his 5 days) Makes DD cry by shouting. I point out I am ill too. Apparently I can have tomorrow in bed as that is a work day for me. I feel we should have split the day fairly so we both got to sleep a bit. WWYD?

Put it down to everyone being cranky and miserable because they're ill, but make sure you get your day in bed tomorrow (even if you feel a bit better!)

He is being an arse. If you are both equally unwell the day should be split so each person gets to rest. It is not about work days at all. You should have just gone up to him and explained how awful you were feeling rather than the PA stuff though.

I have been in the same situation over the last 3 weeks with 3 x ill dc and v ill DH. I was the least sick and had to work so just soldiered on through. DH still unwell, but much better so he has given me a rest for the last two days.

You have my sympathy. I suggest going to bed as soon as the children asleep.
