do you think you will ever feel that you are attractive to the opposite sex ever?

I have been in a relationship give or take for 12 years. We are very happy and love each other very much. He tells me I am sexy eyc eyc. But I do wonder if anyone would ever look at me and think I am sexy without knowing anything about me. I don't know why I have started thinking this and I would NEVER act upon it, but being at home looking after childnre and working has really cut down my contact with the oppostie sex and I feel - in a way so unsexual.

I would just love to know if I could still turn a head or make lingering eye contact.

Am I being stupid or has anyone else ever felt like this?

I don't ever feel remotly sexy. I know xp fancied me, and still does but I was super skinny and 18 when he met me.

Just cannot ever see anyone being attracted to me as I am now, 28, not so skinny, jelly belly, tired face etc etc.

Can I just say it is possible to attract attention at the grand old age of after 40? On the admittedly incredibly rare occasions when the sun has been shining and I've got my norks on display, even an old trout of 43 like me has been known to elicit the odd gleam of approval (and indeed offer).

More often, obviously, I am Invisible Mum

I don't feel sexy in any way shape or form, even to dh, but, i've just been for a few drinks this afternoon, and had alot of eye contact with a good looking fella, can't help but think that he was thinking 'look at the state of that' though

nutcracker-"Just cannot ever see anyone being attracted to me as I am now, 28, not so skinny, jelly belly, tired face etc etc. "
That is describing me too
TBH though if anyone at all started chatting me up, I'd be dragging them straight to bed

lazyanna · 17/12/2006 21:11

hooray for not being ogled by men anymore, I say.

aliceband · 17/12/2006 21:18

I'm wih jolly old..nick.,, straight to bed.

moondog · 17/12/2006 21:22

and the wind blowing in the right way eh MI???

lol at knitting through Come Dancing.Deary me,that does sound worrying.

A lot is due to lack of opportunity I think.
A mother of small children is by definition out far less often than her childless counterpart.

Also if and when one is out, children are in tow which although nice,is not sexy.

motherinfurrierfestivefrock · 17/12/2006 21:25

No, having a three year old's sticky paw in one hand and a five year old's bookbag in the other does not radiate 'ravish me NOW, Sir Jasper', does it.

RnBee · 17/12/2006 21:33

kt36 I think you are my friend and you are gorgeous!

DimpledThighs · 18/12/2006 09:46

no the school run look hardly screams 'take me to bed' (maybe 'go back to bed and get some sleep you tired old harriden).

If you REALLY want to be ogled, go to Italy

expatinscotland · 18/12/2006 19:48

I no longer care.

DimpledThighs · 18/12/2006 20:45

The last time I got seriously ogled by a gorgeous bloke was on a sunny day and I had my shades on. This gorgeous Italian type was just staring at me - a real smouldering look. I thought - still got it girl - then realised after another ten minutes of walking that one of the lenses of my shades had fallen out - I couldn't tell because my right eye is seriously lazy. Not had any luck since then .

I know exactly what you mean - I went to Spain last year after many years' absence and was a senora as opposed to a senorita.

Gutted

HappyDaddy · 20/12/2006 21:17

DimpledThighs - I bet plenty of blokes look at you and fancy you. You either don't see it or can't see it.
