Sister and mum texting to ask what dd would like for Xmas, not sure what to respond as I feel like if they spent anytime at all with her they'd have an idea, we live half an hour away and never see them unless we visit, after realising this we stopped visiting. And have only seen them twice in the past 6 months. In all honesty dd has got everything she needs and I'd rather they made the effort to spend some quality time with her than buy her gifts. What shall I respond?

Why don't you say that? "She has more than enough stuff. Perhaps you could take her to a movie/nature walk/etc in January as her gift..."

Thanks, will respond with that.
