My ex did a good job on me

I divorced this year after much EA and bullying behaviour, when my opinion was worthless and my decisions ignored and ridiculed.
Life is so much better now. Dcs are fine, I have little contact with him and I have a future.
I've had workmen in the last couple of days who did a great job but tonight I noticed a small issue. Nothing major..they're back tomorrow to sort it.
But I have this nagging voice in my head saying " you chose the wrong people....youve overpaid them for an iffy job...cant you do anything right?"

It's stupid....I suppose it's years of being told how crap I was.

Isn't it great to know that you can stand up for yourself (workmen error) and people will listen?

on the plus side, you recognise that now.

could you have done better withthe information you knew at the time? if not then cut yourself some slack.

I never dealt with workmen when we were married as he took over...so I've been on a learning curve this year with gardeners, gas service engineers and plumbers!
No these guys are good...and I know they priced competitively and came recommended.
But its just that voice late at night.......

Doesn't help that I'm still in the family home..not selling for 18 months, and I do panic a bit about things going wrong.

Any workman can do a job good enough for it to be ok, a decent workman will work to resolve it!

Well done OP for choosing decent workman that will work to resolve the issue! Also for having the ability to sort it all out!

I think your ex OH, maybe didn't have the social skills available to talk and negotiate with people, probably because he was a cunt!

And yes, they're sortibg it out. It's very minor...just a detail.
They've actually done some extra jobs for me which wasn't in the spec, and haven't charged me

Well then you've bloody well done well! Have a glass of champagne and congratulate yourself that despite your ex trying to do a good job on you, he failed!

He's damn rubbish then.
