Men women relations in general

Am beginning to conclude they are at an all time low. Not just the posts on here but my friends personal lives. DF1 says she has had so many bad experiences she will never enter a relationship again. DF2 says she would get divorced if she had the means and the courage. Another one endured years of financial and physical abuse from a drunk. I just wonder what kind of world my DD and DS are entering. DD early 20s already saying she is swearing off men. Is it that there are quite a lot of shall we say low quality men out there?

MissApple · 06/10/2015 19:06

Why does a biccie mean No Comment? I took it to mean 'pull up a chair and watch'!

bridie69 · 06/10/2015 19:11

At least I'm not alone in not knowing

The jammy dodger is because someone (I think a politican) got asked what they're favourite biscuit was and couldn't answer. Or something like that it was years and years ago it was introduced.

BrandNewAndImproved · 06/10/2015 19:16

Their not they're.

meditrina · 06/10/2015 19:17

It means 'calm down and have a biscuit'

Castrovalva · 06/10/2015 19:29

brand it was John Prescott

caroldecker · 06/10/2015 19:33

Gordon Brown, I believe

bridie69 · 06/10/2015 19:35

I doubt the "quality of men" is any different to how it has ever been!

I do think that if someone has had bad experiences and they want to remain single then that's fine obviously.

  • I think that things may be harder these days with all tinder and the rest of it? The internet generally seems to bring out the worst in people sometimes and so that might have changed the game a bit in terms of what it feels the general men out there are like IYSWIM. I'm not single so not got first hand experience of this but my friends who have tried it all most of them have not had much luck to put it mildly!

I feel similar OP, but probably not how you expect. I despair of finding a DP I can get along with in the long term, not because of dv or drink, but we (me and all prospective dps) are all just too picky and I find it hard to believe in people.

PitilessYank · 07/10/2015 15:37

That symbol is a biscuit! I thought it was something entirely different (too embarrassed to say what, though...)

OP I do worry for my teenaged children as well. It seems like there is so much cynicism in young people regarding romantic relationships. Two of my kids tell me they have sworn off them even before having had a single one!
