Was it a troll?

OP posts:
Daisychain5 · 03/10/2015 20:55

Anyone?

OP posts:
MissFitt68 · 03/10/2015 20:57

Ooh dunno

Hairyfairy01 · 03/10/2015 21:03

All was forgiven. He was just filming their daughter performing a singing / dancing show apparently and forgot to turn the record button off before they had sex Hmm

Daisychain5 · 03/10/2015 21:05

Yeah I read that bit......he 'set up cameras in every upstairs room' but she forgot! Just wondered if she asked for thread to be deleted or whether she was found to be a troll.

poorbuthappy · 03/10/2015 21:05

What a load of complete bollox.

RolyPolierThanThou · 03/10/2015 21:10

A surprise case of amnesia. I'm pretty sure I'd have remembered my husband rigging up a comprehensive cctv network around the house. And odd how the footage of sex was on the phone but not the other stuff he was supposed to have been filming.

I really wish the creative writers gave a bit more thought to plot plausibility and, crucially, a proper ending. It's disappointing when they improvise themselves into a corner.

loveyoutothemoon · 03/10/2015 21:11

MNHQ deleted it saying it turned into a 'bun fight'.

LyndaNotLinda · 03/10/2015 21:15

I wish MN would just lock threads rather than delete them

chicaguapa · 03/10/2015 21:17

I don't think it was a troll. It didn't unfold very quickly and the OP didn't post very much. She probably asked for it to be deleted as she was getting flack for her response to his explanation and wished she'd never asked on mn.

AFewGoodWomen · 03/10/2015 21:20

At the end it turned into a troll hunting bun fight with two posters (or might have been one person sock peppering) defending the OP and talking away her amnesia and the gas lighting whole unlikeliness of the story. I think that's why it was deleted more than anything the OP wrote.

zillyzilly · 03/10/2015 21:22

Troll hunting is what gets threads deleted.

NameChange30 · 03/10/2015 21:22

It got way out of hand with the troll hunting, arguments about whether the OP had been gaslighted or the bullshit story was in fact plausible, and debating feminism. Bun fights in all directions.

CocoChanel22 · 03/10/2015 21:23

No idea! I came back on to catch up on that one particularly! I was most upset to find it had been deleted!

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 03/10/2015 21:34

T'was a strange one that. Deleted for being a bunfight apparently - but it wasn't really that bunfighty. Or trollhunty. Far far worse has been left to stand.

MNHQ moves in mysterious ways Wink

Daisychain5 · 03/10/2015 21:41

Me too Coco!

I hope she LTB Grin ...Wine

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 03/10/2015 21:50

I actually hope it was creative writing at it's worst.

The alternative is that her DH was secretly filming her, and then successfully gaslighted her. "Accidental porn" my arse.

Daisychain5 · 03/10/2015 21:57

I was genuinely worried about the daughter's vulnerability.

OP posts:
Gabilan · 03/10/2015 22:26

I got as far as reading the penultimate page and then it was deleted. There were 2 posters (not the same as 2 people but who knows) arguing that it's perfectly normal for a man to put cameras up all over the upper floor of a house to film his daughter. It's also perfectly normal for the wife to forget he'd done that within a few hours and for her then to have sex with him in front of one of the cameras. Also, according to these two (I'll call them the Jeffs, for simplicity) it was in no way odd that the OP did not remember the cameras when she first found the sex tape on her DD's phone. Apparently you can forget this stuff and only remember when your husband says "it's perfectly simple, I filmed our DD being theatrical and left the camera on and we had sex. It's all a big mistake".

The Jeffs didn't, as far as I know, tackle the vexed problem of why on earth the video wasn't deleted or why it exists but not apparently the theatrical performance. Disagreeing with the Jeffs' interpretation of events makes you a man-hating feminist (although apparently that's tautologous as all feminists hate men).

Add in some troll hunting and then the troll hunting sulking, flouncing and demanding an apology and you can kind of see why MNHQ thought they had better things to do on a Saturday morning.

But troll or not, there are some rather disturbing and disturbed people out there. There was a very odd change in the OP's posts which did kind of suggest that the H had hacked her account and was posting as her just in case someone on MN took it upon themselves to get the police involved.

Gabilan · 03/10/2015 22:27

Sorry, the troll hunter sulked etc.

Astarael · 03/10/2015 22:28

I read that thread, the thing is when you're in that situation you just desperately want to believe what they're saying. The excuses and lies I swallowed are pretty unbelievable to me now. I felt desperately sad for the op.

LynetteScavo · 03/10/2015 22:31

What under said.

ForChina · 04/10/2015 14:34

Oh it was clearly nonsense. Nobody films their precocious 4 year old prancing around, using 'every room as a stage' with a network of cameras. Whether the OP knew it or not, that bit was total bullshit. It's a shame it got deleted when far more awful things are allowed to be said on here.
