Alternative to National Domestic Abuse helpline....as not helpful in this case

Just wondering if anyone knew the best helpline to ring when you need to talk to someone , poss get some legal advice but aren't looking for them to get you into a refuge or make an injunction.

When I phoned them a while ago they told me unless I wanted an injunction they couldn't help and they couldn't suggest anyone who could.

Bit like the National Debt helpline who said they couldn't help me unless I wanted to become bankrupt.

I'm on waiting list for Freedom programme but would like some advice/support in meantime.

For legal advice go to a solicitor who often give free 1st appointments, for more general advice eg housing/benefits/money go to cab.

Ok..... I would quite like the anonymity of not meeting someone face to face in first instance. Need someone who has some knowledge of court bail

Solicitors and cab's are completely confidential, so you would be 'anonymous'.

Ask in the legal section here about court bail.

I doubt you'll find the CAB helpful in a matter such as this.

What do you want to know about court bail? Is it a case where the court has granted bail or the police have granted bail?

Have the NDA suggested an injuction (non-molestation order) because you/your dc are in need of protection?

As soon as I rang the NDA the woman on the telephone asked me are you looking for us to make an injunction. I said no and told them a bit more about my situation. They then said they were only there to help people get injunctions in place etc. Maybe I just happened upon a less experienced Volunteer.

I did ask the question about court bail on the legal matters page. My situation is quite unusual and I therefore am hesitant to give too much info but the person involved is on court bail (not for domestic abuse/violence)and any action I take may have any impact on that so I have to be very careful.
