We have been together for about 8 months but i havent felt that its been going well for the last couple of months or so. I find little things he does fairly irritating and i just dont feel like im in the honeymoon phase which i should be. We just came back off holiday and i just got so constantly irritated with him for no reason (he wasnt doing anything really wrong just being himself) that i feel like i ruined it for both of us. We had a conversation and i ended up breaking up with him. I was happy with my decision and felt like it was the right

If its that way 8 months in, it's not going to get any better. Sounds like you made the right call.

Do you feel you need to maximise them? I'm confused. You don't want to go out with him any more- that's ok, isn't it?

Posted too soon...anyway felt like it was the right decision but now i think its sank in that its final and now my brain is telling me i made the wrong decision and have made a horrible mistake. I dont really know what i want from this thread i know we werent going to have a future but im finding it really hard that its so final

No... have had a chat with my sister and apparently i have massively minimised in my op and theres lots of red flags that i knew about...i minimised those too. I'm just feeling major guilt. Its my first relationship in a very long time so i'm not used to this really. Thanks for responding though i just need to ride this out i think!

If you had reasons to end the r'ship then so be it. We spend time getting to know someone and if, in that time, we decide that actually this person is not for us then that is perfectly ok. I think it is normal to have a little residual 'what if' after a r'ship has been ended so I would not pay much attention to that.

If you're 'fairly irritated' after 8 months take it from me let it go. You will begin to focus on the irritations and they won't be 'fairly' any longer.

You are doing what most do at the end of a relationship, you need to take the rose tinted specs off.

Good luck OP..I know how it feels Thanks

I just feel so guilty that he never knew it was coming but i did.

Thanks for the kind words though it helps to reaffirm i have done the right thing
