Find it hard to make friends

I think when I look at other people, they all seen to have lots of friends and best friends, I'm sad I don't have a best friend, or in fact many at all. Like I realised tonight I have never been to a hen party! Not even my own! Having fair that I was I'll so it was cancelled... Anyway I reckon I have maybe 5 friends, those I could confide in. Also as a couple we have no friends, we don't socialise, I don't even know how this happened, just lost touch or my dh fell out,/ offended them. I feel ashamed....

Why do you feel ashamed? I don't have lots of friends, at least a very close friend, which kinda sucks. I suppose it is crisp really. Could you reach out to your old friends again?

The title says you find it hard to make friends.... Do you? Or do you find it hard to sustain a friendship? It sounds as though your dh has an influence over your friendships.

I have always considered myself to have lots of friends although I didn't see all of them much as my stbxh didn't like/approve of them. Since we've split up I have a much better relationship with them all.

You have 5 friends and a DH. That's 4 more than me and I live on my own too! I'd say that was average and just fine.

Friends take some time and effort. It's good to see friends on your own, leave DH at home and make your own social life. Or more will drop away.

5 sounds a good number of true friends in a busy life!
