The other night was laying in bed with bf, he had just put bbc I player/YouTube on to watch a bit of tv on it and we were both watching, I wasn't paying much attention but it was showing like the clip advert bit when suddenly up popped a notifcation on the screen!

It was a large rectangle box the came up in centre of phone with not alert beep or anything, white , not like the banner you usually get on iphone and it had a circle picture in the top left corner, it only stayed for a few seconds so I didn't get chance to see what it said but was def a picture of a female.

I asked what it was and he sort of just pretended he didn't know what I was talking about and he didn't see it!

It def wasn't a usual text message so it's got me thinking especially as things have not been 100% lately

Facebook messenger?

youtwohumpedcamel · 06/08/2015 14:58

Sounds like Facebook messager

pocketsaviour · 06/08/2015 14:58

Yeah sounds like FB messenger. That uses circles for profile pics.

Ivegottogo · 06/08/2015 14:59

I was going to say facebook.

Doodlebug300 · 06/08/2015 15:08

Snoop.

Secrettexing · 06/08/2015 15:17

No 100% wasn't Facebook, I know and use that, this was totally different

It definitely isn't a YouTube ad, no idea what adverts on player look like.

QuiteLikely5 · 06/08/2015 15:33

If he can't answer you truthfully about this then I think your relationship is in trouble. He is hiding something, if all was well you would not be on this forum asking us to work out what he is covering up.

Good luck

SnakesandKnives · 06/08/2015 15:37

Does he use skype? I regularly get skype messages appearing on the laptop when we're watching TV and recently have had a number of 'new skype contact requests' from young women (spam obviously) which appear as a round circle with their picture in it......just a thought tho his behaviour would suggest it prob isn't this.....

FredaMayor · 06/08/2015 15:48

It could be Instagram, a large white box appears and then a picture in a circle top left.

GarminGirl · 06/08/2015 15:51

Kik messenger?

Either way, sounds suspicious op. Careful how you proceed. Does he let you go on it when he's in another room?

Secrettexing · 06/08/2015 17:33

I will keep a eye on it, was trying to find out what other message apps you can get that hide the messages as guessing it's something like that rather than a usual text

Pinterest uses circles? hth.

MaliaGrace · 06/08/2015 18:56

Viber?

offside · 06/08/2015 19:00

Whatsapp maybe. WhatsApp has different notification settings. One of them is one that appears in a rectangle on your screen and the profile pics are circles.

Or maybe it was just a random popup?

pixieg1rl · 06/08/2015 19:09

I'd say whatsapp, you do get spammy people trying to connect with you on whatsapp so it could be meaningless.

Hornydilemma · 06/08/2015 19:41

Could it be Snapchat?
