Bi-curious mum...

Hey all,

Had to name change for this.

I have been single for a year now and just recently I'm thinking of going on dates with women. I don't consider my self as a lesbian, but I'm definely bi-curious. Ive definely had those feelings of wanting to
have sex with a woman since I was quite young, but I'm now 22, single, so I guess why not.

I'm not sure if I would want a relationship with a woman, but then again I just don't want no random hook up. I want to go on dates and see how it goes . But I'm not sure if I just want a physical thing or for something to develop. I'm very confused. I would definitely want to experience having sex with a woman with no strings attached, but I'm not sure if I could handle that...: I'm just very confused... How do I go about this?

I'm in a similar boat to you really. I have had sex with women before but not for a long time. It's something I definitely want to do again but I'm confused about the relationship thing too. I think it would be nice to be in a relationship with a woman as in more than just sex but I'm not sure about long term, as in forever. Something I'd want to try at least. But no idea where to look! I went on meetup. com as been a bit lonely and other posters recommended it and I found a few groups on there, one in particular being a group for 'femme' lesbians and bisexuals. Which appeals to me since that's the type of woman I'd like if that makes sense. They arrange meet ups and social events. Would be helpful as it's hard to tell in normal life who is straight or what not! So maybe try that?

Appreciate the replies. I guess one thing that holds me back is that I feel like I have to be pure cause I'm a mum. Nothing to do with being bi or lesbian. But I've never had a no string attached sexual experience. I mean I've only been with DS dad!

I dunno, maybe I should suppress my feelings..

Similar situation here instead I'm a bit older than you, I turn 26 in September. I am nervous about putting my profile on a dating site, scared someone I know in RL may see me on there or anyone I like will not even be interested in me because I have a child.

I plan to bite the bullet...I mean we only got one life to lead and do we in 20 years time want look back with regret we didn't try this sooner?

I agree with Rebecca. Regrets are the worst. Purity isn't a real concept at all- its how you feel that matters. A child will be a much happier child with a very happy mum who has the balls to go out and get what she wants. So i wouldn't focus on the being a mum thing at all. My mum has passed now but one of the things I most respected her for was her open mind. I think that's more important than feeling somehow sullied if you don't go for what you want. As for nerves I'm with you on that but I fake it till I make it and most people are nervous anyway!

You feel like you have to be pure because you're a mum? Unless your child is the second coming of the messiah, it was a fairly impure act that created him

I suggest spending some time on the scene and getting to know some queer women. That might help demystify things for you a bit

Thanks for the replies. It also doesn't help that I was brought up in a very religious family. They were outraged with me cause DS was born outside wedlock.

Anyway, I think I may just go for it. Probably not now as I've got so much going on at the moment... Maybe when DS goes backs to school ????.
