Asked out on online dating by a guy a few days ago. We rearranged the impending date and although he said he would get in touch, the day came and went. I didn't send him a message as I was the last person to get in touch (in response to a question he asked, so not super chatty).

Anyway he has just texted now asking if I'm free this weekend with just a slight apology for not getting in touch before :s

As this is a first meeting im not averse to doing something but (a) am busy this weekend and (b) don't want to dance to his tune, by being super friendly in response to his quite rude behaviour.

So give me a killer response please ladies Grin

No way would I meet him. I reckon he blew you out for 's better offer', but then she blew him out so he's trying to use you as a backup plan.

I just wouldn't reply.

I'm not going to give you a killer response as I'd hate for there to have been a reason he's prefer to explain in person.

If you're considering game playing before you've even met then best not waste both your time with this.

Ok. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt but just don't want to seem like s pushover :) Agree that game playing is unnecessary

I wouldn't unless he had a pretty good explanation.

I'd go with 'I'm busy this weekend but perhaps we can meet for a coffee after work on Monday/Tuesday?' depending on which day suits you.

But I can't think of anything worse than going on a 'date' with a guy I've not seen in the flesh and would confine the first meeting to a coffee to establish that they're not Quasimodo lookalikes whether there's any chemistry as it allows for a speedy exit if not and the possibility of lingering if there is a spark.
