Why do men always want sex at the most awkward moment?

My dh has got in a strop with me this morning as I wouldn't have sex because:
a. it was 6.35am and I had to leave the house at 6.55 to catch my bus to work and b. dd1 had snook in the bed while I had been downstairs since 5.10am making lunches, packing nursery bags etc. Its not like we haven't had sex for ages (we did it yesterday) but it makes me so that I have to put up with huffy husband syndrome because I am saying no - not right NOW. Grrrrrrrrr......

He went in a huff because you wouldn't have sex while your DD was in your bed? Or did I misunderstand?

HuwEdwards · 21/11/2006 10:04

tell him if he'd been downstairs at 5.10am making lunches etc, you might've been more receptive.

alternatively, tell him to shove it up his jacksy

mumblechum · 21/11/2006 10:06

I know, they're a PITA sometimes, they just don't get the concept of picking the moment!

pack · 21/11/2006 10:11

I hasten to add that dd is only a baby but the lack of time and a third person in the bed doesn't exactly make you feel overcome with passion....Huw LOVE the shove it up his jacksy - made me laugh out loud . When men want it they WANT it don't they?

Have you ever seen male pigeons courting the female? It basically consists of the male running around after the female, constantly jumping on her back until she eventually gives in.

Sometimes I feel that human courtship differs little from pigeons.

pack · 21/11/2006 10:40

ha ha LOVING the pigeons comparrison GQM! You're so right - bending over to pick the remote control over in our house get result in you getting 'goosed' from behind....

Looking on the bright side, Pack, at least he still fancies you - could be worse!

WhizzBangCaligula · 21/11/2006 11:24

God you get up early.

HappyDaddy · 21/11/2006 11:51

I bet he'll be grateful for his sandwiches, though.

madmarchhare · 21/11/2006 11:53

You get up to make his sandwiches at 5 o clock??

MrsArchieTheInventor · 21/11/2006 11:58

In the same way that a new lover initiates sex when you're on your period or your ladygarden needs a desperate trimming or when your legs are so hairy they resemble those of a Russian shotputter, it's sod's law that men want sex at the most inappropriate times!

Tell him to go f**k himself - that's what they usually do anyway.

HappyDaddy · 21/11/2006 11:59

Just remember not to try and initiate sex while he's watching football. Most inappropriate.

MrsArchieTheInventor · 21/11/2006 12:05

God yes, especially in a stadium of 40000 people!! You could suggest the most depraved and kinky act in his fantasies and he still wouldn't turn his head away from that damn pitch!

pack · 21/11/2006 12:07

I have the joy(?) of a two hour commute to work hence getting up at the crack of dawn to get everything done. And dh wonders why there's not time for a quickie in the morning.....

OP posts:
WhizzBangCaligula · 21/11/2006 12:09

Why is he not getting up too? If both of you did the sandwiches and got "everything" ready, you might have time to have sex in the morning.

Bozza · 21/11/2006 12:14

I think I'd still forgo the sex for the extra hour's sleep though caligula! TBH I am at just quite how unreasonable he is being.

GoingQuietlyMad · 21/11/2006 13:06

Reminds me of the joke:

What do women want in bed? Eight hours.

Seriously though, pack, sometimes I feel like a pigeon. Have even stopped ever making an effort to look nice to avoid arousing the interest of dh. I'm not frigid, I just don't want it every day!

DetentionGrrrl · 21/11/2006 13:37

I live in hope of DP begging me for it the morning (or any other time!)

Not all fellas are sex mad!

kittylette · 21/11/2006 13:38

you should get a medal for making butties at 5am! lol

GoingQuietlyMad · 21/11/2006 13:41

And that's from a woman who thinks that your dh should be having an affair by now if you deprive him of sex!

kittylette · 21/11/2006 13:46

FFS

i DONT believe that at all,

a woman shouldnt have sex if she doesnt want to, i think if they NEVER had sex, and her husband asked daily and was getting frustrated, depresse dthen thats reason for him to be pushed enough,

she said she had sex with him the day before!!

hes hardly deprived is he??

GoingQuietlyMad · 21/11/2006 13:50

Sorry, that was a little bit tongue in cheek, but I haven't read the WHOLE thread, so I guess you must have got a real roasting by your response!

Seriously though, where do you draw the line, a week a month?

HappyDaddy · 21/11/2006 14:03

kitty, despite you moaning, you've managed to bang on about the same thing on two different threads.

Well done.

kittylette · 21/11/2006 14:04

i didnt bring it up
