Husband acting strange regarding messages on online game

hi there me and dh have been together for 5 years and things are good so far we are just about to buy our first home and plan to try for another baby soon.

Things were brilliant until last night I was laid on his chest and he was posting a message on his online game like the kind where there are wizards and kingdoms.

Anyway I lifted my hair to see what he was typing and he stopped and opened the book app and then when he thought I had home to sleep opened the game message app again.

I rolled off and said what are you writing and all of a sudden he started laughing maniacally and started kissing me hard as if to take my mind off the question I asked.

Anyway he was still using a funny voice and was like oh well were never going to meet each other in real life so people write all sorts. I said well what are you writing. He said he was replying to a request to join the group and making sure the person was good chat. I said what does it matter they're only playing game and then the silly laughing came back and the trying to kiss me again.

Am I just getting all paranoid for no reason? My instincts tell me his online life is not representative of his actual life and maybe he's online self is a single guy.

Shall I just leave this alone?

He's being sleazy online would be my guess.. I would make him show you unless it's possible to delete chat app.

Well good to know I am not just being silly. You see I don't have any other reason not to trust him, that he's not being an online sleaze.

I'm almost tempted to join the game myself so see what happens but I don't know his username so won't know who he is.

Can you check his history to see what he said? He's obviously flirting with someone and is a very bad liar!

Vanitas I can't get hold of his phone easily as he always has it on him. This has been the since we got together as his mum is ill and he likes to always have the phone close by for this reason (so he says)

Sunny I will do that tonight.

After this last night he wanted to have sex and I can say being lied to or having something hidden from me is such a turn off.

What game was it? World of Warcraft? Elder Scrolls online? Do you know? Sometimes you can Google the groups they belong to Guilds/Linkshells/Clans - they sometimes have their own website!

Just going to go against the grain here..but could he possibly be role playing and was embarrassed? As in..pretending to be in character? I played an online MMO for 6 years and never came across role players until recently and I was weirded out! Nothing against folk that want to pretend to be elves and what not - just came as a shock and I've been gaming a very long time!

If he was up to something, you could Google game/character name/server - see what comes up if anything.

It does happen though I'm afraid. I've seen it plenty of times. Some of these online games have in game weddings etc and players get close. Hopefully it's not this at all but go with your instinct. Ask him outright - "why were you hiding your in game chat last night?"

Hope it's a positive outcome xx

Update:

No it was not world or warcraft, it's a game he plays on his phone where you have an army and battle other armies and stuff.

Anyway, when he got home last night I said to him what is so good about this game that you're on it so much and what are you writing in the chat I saw you using? He gave me his phone and opened the app and told me to have a look. Well it was all game related stuff even the private chat. There was nothing at all suspicious. He also invited me to play so I have joined and can see all the messages.

Whether there was anything to see and he deleted it, thinking I may have asked to have a look I'm never going to know. But at least he knows it's on my radar now.

As I said before he has never done anything to make me distrust him so I need to give him the benefit of the doubt.

It might not be flirting, it could just be a bit embarrassing and he doesn't want you to read it.

Yeah pear maybe that was it. It was all from men as well there was no private chat from women and the messages were all about battling other players. Very short and to the point, not even smiley faces etc.

If my dh asks me what I am typing when I am on MN I don't tell him as I don't really want to tell him I am talking about whether a slide is a better choice than a swing of if I would marry Chandler or Joey. (Obviously not Ross).

It's just too tedious. I would have to say

"well,,there is this woman in Hampshire and she's got a two year old and a baby and she wants to get a slide but her husband thinks they should get a swing because then the baby could use it too. And so I was saying that I would get a slide as it's more fun for two children, or at least it will be next year and this other poster is saying the swing is better as it's more relaxing and then someone else said she doesn't want her children to be relaxed she wants them worn out as one of them doesn't sleep through even though he is five."

So I just say 'nothing really'.

Yeah I hate people to see what im typing, it puts mw off and its kind of embarrassing for some reason, dunno why though. I don't even like people to see the incredibly lame things I read about online, like food shopping lists and other thrilling innocent things, so I get why had have hid it
