is my BF using a hook up site?

advice needed please - my BF leaves his phone lying around and I occasionally scroll through his stuff - we know each other's passwords, I should add. He leaves pages 'open' and on a recently viewed page was a photo of a woman which had beneath it on the horizontal bar at the bottom (if it were on your photo roll, for example, it would have a trash can) there was a 'heart' symbol which presumably (if it were a hook up site) you might be able to click on the heart to show that you 'liked' someone........... is this a hook up site? Is anyone familiar with this app? Thought he was a trustworthy type....................

Have you asked him?

Angie611 · 14/06/2015 21:48

There's not enough information here to comment. The fact that he leaves his phone around and you know each other's passwords probably means he has nothing to hide, therefore no funny business going on. If he were visiting hook up sites he'd be far more protective of his phone.

mypetdragon · 14/06/2015 21:54

no, not asked him. Just thought it a bit odd. He's very needy and loving, it seemed out of character but something made me look. Call it 6th sense, I don't know.

Just do an image drop of the picture in google.

Wotsitsareafterme · 14/06/2015 23:24

iPhones have heart symbols on the camera rolls now too

mypetdragon · 15/06/2015 07:19

it wasn't an instagram pic and now he's removed it from being an 'open window'. It was in his photo album - weird. I'm hoping one of his single friends has sent it to him, it being someone they might be dating. Will find and opportunity to look through his photos with him and casually ask.

Don't ask. It will alert him. Wait and watch.

PanGalaticGargleBlaster · 15/06/2015 09:04

Well if he is using hook up sites via his phone he is either being very cavalier or careless by leaving it about when you know the password and can check what he has been up to.

Just out of interest, why do you feel the need to scroll through his stuff occasionally? As a rule of thumb do you not trust him? Has he previous form for messing about?

mypetdragon · 15/06/2015 16:52

I will wait and watch. There are no icons on the screen that look suspicious, and the photo was from an album. I am baffled. Am I suspicious? Hmm - not sure, but I admit I am a little insecure, despite being in a loving 10 month relationship with him. My insecurities lie from having previously been dumped from a great height by a man who promised me the world and then got bored and looked elsewhere. We all bear the scars of relationships gone by, and I feel aghast that I felt the need to scroll through BF's phone.

Bless you myoetdragon I have nothing practical to say but your last line was so eloquently written and so honest it touched me. I totally get it and the need to scroll based on shit from the past. It's a horrible feeling and maybe worth further exploration at some point. Hope you get a resolution to your situation.
