Hi my little lad not long come back from spending weekend with his father. We're separated. He has just broken down, in floods of tears saying I miss dad :-( I feel awful ! The split was my choice.. He's okay now but any pearls of wisdom as it heartbreaking and I feel his pain :-( how can I make things easier or better ?

How old is he? How long have you been separated for?

I think you just have to be alongside him - make sure he knows his feelings are valid, that the split was nothing to do with him and that you love him and his dad loves him.

How often does he see him? Any chance for more contact? Would Skype/phone calls help?

is the split permanent ?

shaniatwain · 14/06/2015 18:31

Hi yes the split is permanent.. We split about 17 months ago.. Maybe call etc may help . He spends two occasionally three nights a week there.. It's hard as I feel so bloody guilty :-(
