If you have been verbally abused which is also emotional abuse by a parent/Carer/partner? How did you shake the abusers view of you?

Father verbally/emotionally abused me. Most people I have very known have issued put downs and/or name calling

How do I stop feeling their definition of me is the correct one?

The right therapist can help with this, you may have to try a few out before finding a good match.

If budget is tight, I can recommend John Bradshaw's "Homecoming" book as well as "Toxic Parents" by Susan Forward.
